“Meetings or receptions on the spectacular roof promenade is one of the most unusual and special meetings experience on the Adriatic.”
Contemporaty Croatian Architecture
The architect Nikola Bašić is one of the most famous Croatian creators who in the last decade significantly contributed to the rebirth of copyright architecture. Its architectural object Sea organ is among the major achievement in the regulation of public spaces in Croatia. With it, the more than 3000 years old Mediterranean city of Zadar received a new important and recognizable city icon. It is no coincidence that the Turkish investor Doğuş Group hired Bašić to redesign the peninsula Mandalina into a boutique luxury resort which today interact and bled with the surroundings.
One of a kind building
The organic roof of the hotel, designed as a promenade acts exciting and bears the signature of architect Bašić. It seems like it’s always been rooted into the peninsula Mandalina. The second part of the building is the use of natural concrete which acts primal and perhaps even a bit wild but so much more authentic. Extraordinary architecture was achieved by using white cement that represents a genuine luxury which doesn’t need to be hidden behind artificial façade elements. Resort breaks stereotypes of luxury hotels and places them in a new context.
Design hotel
Architect Marko Murtić with its brother Ranko designed the interior décor. Upon entering you meet with prominent wooden sculptures of Mirko Zrinščak. They reach to the top of the spacious lobby that is illuminated through concrete openings. The artworks of painter Tomislav Buntak will inspire you even in individual rooms. Murtić brothers achieved a positive contrast between rough concrete and noble wood furniture coverings. Part of the design are subtle, youthful and casual uniforms contributing to the positive experience.
